Yankees Lose to Twins, 7-2
|
The Minnesota Twins got a good effort from starter Darren Oliver in defeating the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The final score was 7-2. The Twins have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 20 games.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Frank Thomas, the two-time All-Star . Thomas contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Minnesota up, 3-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Minnesota manager Darren Fischbach.
