Hansen 3-5, Whalers Move to 73-35
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies and Hartford Whalers cranked it up at Kernels Ballpark.
The Hartford Whalers beat the Danville Dairy Daddies, 12-6, at Kernels Ballpark. Hartford third baseman Dave Hansen earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The first-place Whalers, at 73-35, now lead their division by 8½ games.
In the top of the first, Hansen pounced on a 1-1 slider from A J Sager and hit a 2-run home run. It put Hartford on top, 2-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Hansen said. "We did a good job of that today."
