Castilla Delivers Walk-Off Win for Cubs
|
The Chicago Cubs faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Juan Nieves, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Wrigley Field by a final score of 3-1. Nieves went 9 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Cubs, now 14-6, have hit the ground running this season.
Chicago took a 3-1 lead on Vinny Castilla's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Castilla hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Cleveland pitcher Carlos Perez shaking his head.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Cleveland manager Wilson Ogle.
