The Hartford Whalers picked up a win at Ravens Ballpark, knocking off the Southeast Slammers, 2-0. On the mound for Hartford was right-hander Bryan Rekar, who played a pivotal role in the win. Paul Byrd earned his 1st save in 1 chances. With the win, the Whalers have a record of 58-54.

It could have been a different outcome for Hartford, had it not been for Scott Stahoviak, the top prospect . Stahoviak contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Hartford up, 1-0.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Stahoviak.
