|
The Hartford Whalers bested the Southeast Slammers by a score of 5-4, with second baseman Luis Castillo getting the main credit. On the day, Castillo went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Whalers. The Whalers bumped their record to 59-54 with this latest triumph.
Castillo had a game-changing single in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch curveball from Scott Scudder, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Whalers a 5-4 lead. It was the 169th hit of the year for Castillo.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Southeast manager . "The effort was great."
