Red Wings Fall Short at Bluff City
|
In a close game at Ravens Ballpark, the Bluff City Beasties edged the Rochester Red Wings, 4-3. Bluff City designated hitter Jeff Treadway earned the nod as player of the game. He was 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles. The win was credited to Joey Long in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Oscar Munoz took the loss. The win puts the Beasties at 57-55, while the Red Wings drop to 51-61.
Treadway had a game-changing single in the bottom of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Joe Ausanio, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Beasties a 4-3 lead. It was the 157th hit of the year for Treadway.
"This place was electric at the end," Treadway said.
