Evans Leads Beasties to Win over Red Wings
Bluff City third baseman Tom Evans had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Rochester Red Wings, 9-4. Steve W Sparks got the win, improving to 14-10. He worked 9 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The 5th-place Beasties now have a win-loss record of 58-55.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Dante Powell came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Rochester pitcher Joe Ausanio, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bluff City on top, 5-4.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Powell.
