Dodgers Subdue Montreal, 3-1
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Montreal Expos, 3-1, in United League action at Dodger Stadium, with Los Angeles pitcher Bret Saberhagen named player of the game. The win leaves Los Angeles with a record of 10-10.
The Dodgers beat the Expos with some clutch hitting. The home run by Hiromitsu Ochiai in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Ochiai gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he came through with the big hit.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ochiai told reporters after the game.
