Otters Prevail, 6-4, Over Columbus
|
Milwaukee rode a decent outing from starter Willie Blair to victory over the Columbus Clippers at Stags Ballpark. The final score was 6-4. The winner was Milwaukee reliever Dan Miceli, now 3-6. The loser was Kirk McCaskill. Todd Ritchie, credited with the save, is now 2 for 13 in save opportunities.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Otters had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when shortstop Tony Graffanino hit a 2-run single. The single came off John Wetteland and made the score 5-3, Otters. Graffanino was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"It's a mindset," said Blair. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The Otters' win now puts them at 56-59.
