Matt Beech pitched a gem in leading Asheville to a 4-1 victory over the Buffalo Bisons. Asheville improves to 68-46 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.

The Moonshiners got a big at-bat from first baseman Randall Simon. For the game, Simon went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Asheville a 2-0 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Simon told the Asheville Daily News.
