Victory Over Red Wings Takes Asheville to 73-42
The Asheville Moonshiners defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 12-5, at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale today. Leading the charge for Asheville was first baseman Roberto Petagine. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Salomon Torres, who threw 106 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 5 hits. The Moonshiners have an impressive 73-42 record.

With Asheville leading 3-2 in the top of the third, Petagine hit a cutter from Chris Gardner for a 2-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Moonshiners ahead, 5-2.
