Litton Helps Moonshiners Run Win Streak to 4
The Asheville Moonshiners beat the Jacksonville Suns, 9-5, at Field of the Running Rebels. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Greg Litton, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Asheville reliever Steve Foster, now 7-2. The loser was Kevin Ritz. The first-place Moonshiners have won 4 straight games.

Litton had a key at-bat for Asheville early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was his 137th hit of the season and gave Asheville an early 3-1 lead.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Asheville manager .
