5-for-6 Day for Treadway
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Jeff Treadway as he led the charge to a 14-1 win over the Suns. The Bluff City second baseman was pure misery for the Jacksonville pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Treadway put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Suns, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Jeff Treadway singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
To date Treadway has chalked up a .338 average with 10 home runs, driven in 64 runs and scored 90 times.
