Slammers Lose, 10-5, at Aspinwall Grounds
|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Shannon Stewart, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Southeast Slammers, 10-5. Stewart went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Bisons. Buffalo goes to 66-49. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
Stewart had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 sinker from Jim Corsi, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Bisons a 6-3 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Stewart.
Stewart said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.
