Mitchell Finds Groove in 8-1 Triumph
|
Washington right-hander John Mitchell made an effective start against the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium, leading his team to a 8-1 win. The Senators, with just their 5th win so far in 1994, have yet to catch fire.
Mitchell was effective for Washington, seldom allowing the Padres to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 82 pitches over 9 innings. He limited San Diego to just 1 run on 2 hits.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mitchell told the Washington Today.
