Swamp Foxes Drop Whalers with Late Score
The Savannah Swamp Foxes took Hartford pitcher Bryan Rekar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Wolves Ballpark. The final score had Savannah getting past the Whalers, 5-3. Rekar went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 6. The Swamp Foxes have an impressive 75-42 record.

Savannah designated hitter Tony Longmire contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a slider into right field for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Swamp Foxes ahead, 4-3.

Longmire said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
