The Jacksonville Suns defeated the Danville Dairy Daddies, 9-6, in Atlantic action at Kernels Ballpark, with Jacksonville pitcher Jeff Fassero named player of the game. The Suns now have a record of 64-53.

The result might have been different for Jacksonville, had it not been for Doug Mirabelli, the 26-year old catcher . Mirabelli stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Jacksonville up, 3-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
