Cyclones Drop Another One
|
The first-place Hartford Whalers picked up another win at Wolves Ballpark.
Mike Thurman pitched a gem to lead Hartford to a 4-1 victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Thurman picked up the win for Hartford, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 11-6. Cory Lidle got the save, his 32nd in 36 chances.
In the top of the seventh, Pedro Castellano stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Cyclones were trailing 4-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Brady Raggio made a terrific pitch and Castellano struck out. Gone was the dream of a Brooklyn comeback.
Brooklyn's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
