Victory Pushes Clippers Record to 62-57
|
Gary Scott did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Rochester Red Wings from losing, 13-9, to the Columbus Clippers at Mules Ballpark. Scott belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jamey Wright got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 3. Marc Wilkins got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.
Quinton McCracken, who is tied for 9th in the ATL with a .949 OPS, aided the Columbus cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1-2 with 3 walks. He scored 2 times.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," McCracken told the Columbus Observer.
Columbus is now 62-57.
