The Asheville Moonshiners topped the Columbus Clippers by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Raul Ibanez. Ibanez was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Moonshiners on the day. Matt Beech picked up the win, improving his season record to 13-7. He struck out 10 in 6 innings. The Moonshiners bumped their record to 76-45 with this latest triumph.

Ibanez in the bottom of the third had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and the Moonshiners leading 2-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
