The Clippers had to overcome a fine effort from Savannah pitcher Ariel Prieto to grab a narrow 2-0 win at Paradise Grounds. Prieto went 9 innings and allowed no earned runs. Columbus reliever Mike Fetters was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Johnny Ruffin took the loss for Savannah. The 'W' lifts Columbus's record to 57-65.
Columbus needed the clutch hitting of Randy Milligan to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Clippers on top, 1-0. For the game, Milligan had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
"I like how we battled to the end," said Milligan.
