Getting a good performance from left fielder Jacob Cruz, the Savannah Swamp Foxes defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 11-7. Cruz was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4 for the Swamp Foxes. Reliever Don Schulze picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Darryl Scott took the loss. The Swamp Foxes bumped their record to 69-51 with this latest triumph.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Hayes told the Savannah Daily News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
