Red Wings Win at Savannah, 7-3
|
The Rochester Red Wings topped the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 7-3, in Atlantic action at Paradise Grounds. The player of the game was Rochester pitcher and El Seibo, Dominican Republic native Jose Mercedes. The winning pitcher was Mercedes, now 7-9. He tossed 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. With the victory, the Red Wings record now stands at 56-65.
Helping the Rochester cause was Damon Mashore. In the top of the first, the 27-year old center fielder had a run-scoring triple to make the score 1-0, Red Wings.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mercedes said after the game.
