Behind a solid performance from center fielder Marvin Benard, the New Orleans Brass defeated the Round Rock Express, 11-6. Benard went 2-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Brass. The win gives the Brass a record of 1-1.

Benard came through with some timely hitting for New Orleans. With the score 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Benard hit a 1-0 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 8-5, New Orleans.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Benard.
