Starting pitcher Pat Mahomes pitched well enough to help the Round Rock Express beat the New Orleans Brass by the score of 5-4. Mahomes, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Alberto Reyes finished the game for Round Rock and earned his 2nd save.

Lee Tinsley had a big 2-run single for the Express in the top of the sixth inning. With Round Rock leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Brian Holman and stroked the single to center. It was his 4th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Express ahead, 3-0.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Mahomes.

The win takes Round Rock to 2-2.
