Sky Fox Get Road Win, 5-2
|
The Walla Walla Warriors inaugurated the 1995 campaign with a disappointing 5-2 loss to the Colorado Springs Sky Fox at Ballpark of Milton. Colorado Springs third baseman Juan Castro had a big impact on the outcome. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. Colorado Springs reliever Archie Corbin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ugueth Urbina shouldered the loss.
Colorado Springs used the timely hitting of Gary Bennett to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sky Fox on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I really like what we did out there today," Castro said after the game.
