Multi-HR Day for Perez as Storm Chasers Overpower Rainiers, 6-3
Omaha left fielder Eduardo Perez played a vital role in his team's 6-3 triumph over Tacoma. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Omaha. Pete J. Smith got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Tony J. Castillo closed the door for Omaha, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Perez contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Omaha in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-0, Perez took a changeup from Eddie Guardado and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Storm Chasers to leap in front, 4-3.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Perez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The win takes Omaha to 1-1.
