The Tucson Tarantulas downed the Salt Lake City Buzz, 6-1, at Bella Vista Grounds. The Tarantulas were led by Manuel Lee, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chuck Finley was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. Tucson, now 2-1, has played well in the early going.

Lee came through with some timely hitting for Tucson. With the score 1-1 in the top of the fifth and no one down, Lee hit a 1-2 slider for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 5-1, Tucson.
