New York Decked by Thome, Royals
The Kansas City Royals stopped the New York Yankees, 9-2, behind an impressive performance from Jim Thome. The three-time All-Star made life miserable for New York pitching. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The Yankees fall to 9-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1995 season.

Thome had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Royals went on to win.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Thome.
