Oliver goes 3-for-4, Rainiers Move to 5-2
|
The Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 11-4, at Premont Grounds. Tacoma catcher Joe Oliver was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Tacoma reliever Scott Klingenbeck picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ryan Bowen absorbed the loss. The Rainiers, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Eric Young put Tacoma in front, 8-0, when he took Ryan Bowen downtown. His grand slam home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 1st home run of the season.
Young told a Tacoma Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
