Missions Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
San Antonio played host to New Orleans at the friendly confines of Texans Stadium.
The San Antonio Missions picked up a win at Texans Stadium, knocking off the New Orleans Brass, 9-2. Starting pitcher Marty Bystrom, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. San Antonio , now 2-4, is off to a slow start.
The Brass had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Missions going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old catcher Kelly Stinnett came to the plate. Stinnett hit a 2-run single on a 2-1 fastball from New Orleans hurler Mike Dunne. It was Stinnett's 7th hit of the year.
"It feels good to get this one," Stinnett told the San Antonio Chronicle.
