Victory Over Pilots Takes Washington to 13-7
|
Washington pitcher Chad Ogea did his part in helping his team beat the Seattle Pilots, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ogea picked up the win for Washington, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The save was credited to Milt Hill, his 3rd.
Rafael Palmeiro, who is a two-time Gold Glove winner, chipped in for Washington with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Palmeiro said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Washington goes to 13-7 with the win.
