Steverson goes 3-for-5, Warriors Move to 7-3
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Todd Steverson, the Walla Walla Warriors defeated the Spokane River Rats, 6-1. Steverson went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Warriors. Gene Nelson went 7 innings for Walla Walla to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 earned run. He scattered 3 hits, while walking 7 and striking out 4. His record improves to 2-0. The Warriors, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.

Steverson had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Marc Valdes, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Warriors a 3-1 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Steverson.

"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Spokane skipper . "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
