Buzz Walk It Off for 5th Win of Season

Colorado Springs designated hitter Steve Pegues was sensational. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Salt Lake City beat the Sky Fox, 7-6. Pegues was named the player of the game despite the loss. Carlos Almanzar got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Salt Lake City is now 5-3.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Salt Lake City first baseman Dave Staton, facing Antonio Alfonseca, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Buzz the 7-6 win.
"If we keep winning the close games," Staton said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
