New Orleans left-hander Vaughn Eshelman pitched his team to victory over the Salt Lake City Buzz at Bay Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. With their winning streak at 4, the Brass have raced to a strong start this season.
The Brass got an important contribution from center fielder Marvin Benard, who in the bottom of the third punched a first pitch changeup into right for a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Brass ahead, 2-0.
"We had a good game plan," Eshelman said, "and we were able to execute it."
