River Rats Win at Idaho Falls, 7-3
|
River Rats catcher Eric Helfand put his stamp on his team's 7-3 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars. Helfand went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Spokane in the contest. The River Rats, now 9-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
Helfand had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Steve Montgomery, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the River Rats a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Helfand.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Helfand said.
