Chukars Need Extras to Top River Rats
|
It was a fun time at Alleycats Ballpark, where the Spokane River Rats and Idaho Falls Chukars tangled.
Idaho Falls starter Rich Hunter pitched effectively against the Spokane River Rats at Alleycats Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Reliever Bill Sampen picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Matt Whisenant took the loss.
Idaho Falls took a 3-2 lead on Wayne Kirby's 20th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Kirby hit in the bottom of the tenth, left Spokane pitcher Matt Whisenant visibly frustrated.
"Feels good to get the job done," Hunter said after the game.
The win brings the Chukars to 8-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
