Bates Shines in Rainiers Win
The Tacoma Rainiers topped the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 13-4, in Pacific action at Premont Grounds. The player of the game was Tacoma designated hitter Jason Bates. The Sky Fox, now 3-9, continue their slow start.

With Tacoma leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Bates hit a fastball from Jason Johnson for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Rainiers ahead, 3-1.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Bates.
