Express Solve Tarantulas, 5-2

The Round Rock Express topped the Tucson Tarantulas, 5-2, with third baseman Mark Lewis playing a big role. Lewis went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Express in the win. Wade Taylor, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 11 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-1. Alberto Reyes got credit for the save for Round Rock. It was his 3rd of the year.
The Express got a big at-bat from first baseman Rico Brogna. For the game, Brogna was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Round Rock a 1-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Lewis told a Round Rock Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Tarantulas, now 4-8, continue their poor start.
