Canseco Hits 2 home runs in Athletics Win
The Oakland Athletics beat the New York Mets, 8-2, at Oakland Coliseum. Oakland first baseman Jose Canseco earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The Athletics, now 7-14, have not found much traction so far in 1995.

Canseco contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Oakland in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Canseco took a fastball from Frank Castillo and stroked the home run to center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Athletics to leap in front, 3-2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jim B said.
