Davis Slugs Rainiers to 8-2 Win
The exploits of third baseman Russ Davis, who is tied for 2nd in the PAC in extra base hits with 10, helped the Tacoma Rainiers defeat the San Antonio Missions, 8-2. Davis was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. At 12-5, the Rainiers have played well so far.

Tacoma used the timely hitting of Mike R Kelly to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Rainiers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"Russ is still learning," said Rainiers manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
