Sounds Come Back Late to Clip Storm Chasers
Nashville beat Omaha at Red Devils Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Paul Wilson, who earned player of the game honors. Chad Fox earned the save, his 3rd, for the Sounds. The Storm Chasers fall to 5-10 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1997 season.

Had Paul Konerko not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Konerko hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sounds.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Wilson said.
