Missions Come Up Short at Omaha
|
Behind the bravura of center fielder Mike Figga, the Omaha Storm Chasers topped the San Antonio Missions by the score of 8-7. Figga was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Storm Chasers. Omaha reliever Mike Bovee picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jeff Pico shouldered the loss. Tony J. Castillo earned save number 3.
Matt Mieske contributed to the Omaha win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Figga, "but we got it done."
The Missions, now 7-13, continue their poor start.
