The Tacoma Rainiers did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars at Premont Grounds. Nobody did more than designated hitter Micah Franklin, who captured player of the game honors. Tacoma reliever Greg McMichael picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Steve Falteisek was saddled with the loss. Tavo Alvarez sewed up the save, his 3rd.

Had Eric Young not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Young hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Rainiers.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Young.

With the loss, Idaho Falls sinks to 11-12.
