Victory Over Twins Takes Cincinnati to 15-6
|
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, knocking off the Minnesota Twins, 3-0. Starting pitcher Kevin Gross played a key role in the triumph. Gross got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 4 over 6.1 innings. Gross allowed no earned runs. The Reds keep rolling, raising their record to 15-6.
The tide might have turned with two out in the top of the ninth, had not Todd Worrell made a big pitch. With the bases loaded and the Twins trailing 3-0, he retired Jeff Stone, who grounded out.
