|
Starting pitcher Matt Morris pitched well enough to help the Spokane River Rats beat the San Antonio Missions by the score of 6-3. In 7.2 innings, Morris surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Spokane, now 14-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Spokane used the timely hitting of Tony Rodriguez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the River Rats on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Rodriguez told the Spokane Bulletin.
