Rogers, Rangers Dispatch Reds
|
In a low-scoring game between the Texas Rangers and the Cincinnati Reds, pitcher Kenny Rogers was masterful on the mound. The Texas left-hander was named the player of the game in Texas's 3-0 win. Getting the save was Rob Murphy, his 4th. The Reds drop to 11-11 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1995 season.
Rogers was in the zone all game. He frustrated Cincinnati hitters while giving the Rangers 8 innings of quality work. Rogers threw 111 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 7 punchouts.
Rogers called the win "a collective effort."
