The Tacoma Rainiers took New Orleans pitcher Brian Barnes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bay Hawks Ballpark. The final score had Tacoma getting past the Brass, 4-2. Barnes went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 9. Tacoma is now 17-9, 3 games up in the Pacific West.
Eric Young, who is tied for 4th in the PAC in stolen bases with 5, helped out the Tacoma cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 5 with a double.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Tacoma manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
