Mieske Goes Wild, But Warriors Win
Nashville got a terrific performance from left fielder Matt Mieske, but it wasn't enough to beat the Walla Walla Warriors. Walla Walla won the Ballpark of Milton contest, 9-7. Mieske was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. The Warriors raised their record to 12-13.

Trailing 7-5, Walla Walla hopes soared in the bottom of the sixth inning when the 23-year old left fielder Todd Steverson lifted a 3-1 curveball into the stands for a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put the Warriors up, 8-7.

In postgame comments to the Walla Walla News, Steverson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
