Brass Come Back Late to Clip Rainiers
|
The Brass had to overcome a good performance from Tacoma pitcher Brad Rigby to claim a 6-3 win at Premont Grounds. Rigby went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Cris Carpenter got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. New Orleans has a 5-game win streak, while Tacoma has lost 3 in a row.
New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Ruben Sierra to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Brass the lead, 4-3. For the game, Sierra had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
